Nestled in the Marlborough Sounds, this new dwelling replaces an existing bach that has been in the same family for generations. A key design generator was to ensure that the kitchen space had oversight of the beach and front yard where the cricket games occur, along with the quieter view out to the protected garden nestled in behind the building. Utilising recycled timbers from the original back in the built-in joinery, and referencing back to the original front porch, this new addition to the site respects what has gone before, while providing a supporting canvas to create new memories for years to come.
