This new indoor pool house, gymnasium, and outdoor entertainment area are thoughtfully embedded into the side of a rural hillside, allowing the substantial building to blend discreetly into the landscape.
Designed to work in harmony with the existing house on site, the new structure is nestled into the terrain, with a low-slung green roof and sympathetic materials that mirror the natural surroundings. Glazing along the seaward façade brings in light and offers expansive views to the bay, while the building’s low profile and carefully landscaped transitions ensure it remains visually unobtrusive.
Carefully contoured earthworks and native planting soften the transition between architecture and landscape, making the building feel like a natural extension of the existing hillside.
