New family home in Blenheim to replace the original house on the same site. Planned to offer strong visual connections to the existing gardens and flexibility to be opened up or closed down to respond to the movements of busy, large family. The use of natural cedar and bagged brick as cladding materials offer a balance and counterpoint to each other. The strong bagged brick anchors the house and provides a reference to old cob farm houses in the area as well as adding a textural surface to compliment the band sawn face cedar.
